Three Food Myths You Shouldn’t Believe

Sammie LeeSeptember 17, 2022

There are many myths and misconceptions about food out there, and this makes deciding what is good to eat and what is not increasingly difficult for people. Some of these myths are passed around from person to person until they transform into general knowledge, and they stay unchallenged by those who spread them.

Most of these myths can’t be backed with facts, yet, they still managed to get people to change their diets when they don’t have to. In this article from online pokies for real money in Australia, we will be listing out a few of the myths concerning food that you believe.

Celery Is A “Negative-Calorie” Food

Celery is regarded as one of the most popular and versatile vegetables, and it is being eaten by millions of people, every single day. However, some people believe that celery, as well as other selected foods, are “negative-calorie foods. These are foods that contain little calories than it takes to eat them, which means that you will be burning calories while eating these kinds of foods. But in the real world with real facts, no negative-calorie foods are existing on this blue planet we are in. Even a large stalk of celery which contains only 10 calories will only take you two calories to eat. This means that it is not a negative-calorie food, and David Villa’s wife probably loves eating celery like everybody else.

Night Eating Is Bad For You

In a world where gaining weight has become a trend with unhealthiness, night eating became associated. Researchers at Northwestern University discovered that night eating only leads to a significant weight gain in mice. But when the same data was collected for humans, this turned out to be false. They considered calories as calories, regardless of the time you eat them. Nutrition experts further claimed that what causes weight gain in humans is eating more calories than you burn. It has absolutely nothing to do with the time you eat them. So, night eating isn’t worse for you, you should just stop eating at night out of boredom rather than being hungry. Only then will you be taking in more calories than you burn, courtesy of casino en ligne france.

Brown Eggs Are Healthier Than White Eggs

For many years, some people claimed that brown eggs are healthier and have more nutrition than its counterpart, white eggs, but this is a falsified claim. The only reason for different colours of eggs is the different types of chickens that lay them.

White chickens are known to usually lay white eggs and brown chickens lay brown eggs, and both are nutritionally identical. However, you should note that any egg’s nutrition is highly dependent on how its farmers feed and raise them. So, if both are identical nutritionally, why is it believed that brown eggs have a reputation of being healthier than their white counterpart? This is because brown eggs cost more in stores, but this is due to them being more expensive to produce. Nothing to do with its nutrition.
